Lower Snake

The long ladder bridge towards the middle/end of Lower Snake with the end-ramp that turns to the right was completely taken out, supports still secured to the ladder, and was lying upside down to the side.
What happened?
Did someone take it down for safety reasons or was it removed in anticipation for future work?

That’s to bad. A lot of time was spent on that section. This area has had problems with late campfires and gatherings on weekends. I don’t think city, hikers or other bikers removed it. Hopefully it can be turned over and re installed.

yeah, when we went through there there were a couple of kids climbing the steel tower at the opening of function. Underneath it was a huge bonfire pit. the kids were doing their best Bart Simpson impression, slingshot and all. Kids'll be kids, but this could be bad for bikes. Not to mention safety - I don't know if I want to ride something that may have been attacked by drunk teenagers. But let's not put the cart before the horse. Does anyone know for sure why this thing's down?
eep the rubber side down.

The ladder will be repaired tonight. I was going to talk to the city about fires on the mountain this could be a problem. A lot of work is being done on the trail its pretty sad to see it get damaged. It may be a good idea to report any fires to the police.

Looks like another set of ladders with some planks got added recently -- nice!
There is a ladder-ramp next to it too, but didn't try hitting it since I was in a little bit of a hurry to catch a bus and get up to campus. It looked interesting since the approach appeared to be off the side slightly, and you have to turn on to the ramp. Didn't look at it closely though -- might be a lot less tricky than it first appeared.

Was out for a ride this afternoon and ran into one of the trail builders not sure of his name working on dead moped. Anyways he mentioned that all of the structures on lower snake are being removed next week by city. Supposidly because it looks to busy and there was no approval. I personally really liked that trail due to the new work and thought it was really well built. Actually thought city put it in. Has anyone else heard this it would be sad to see it go.

The City made the decision to yank them. Dino had been doing his best for the past few weeks to convince them to leave them in, but it was no go.
Lower Snake
That's a shame.
Hopefully we can convince them to build up that trail in the future, as the width allows for quite a bit of freedom.
