Mountain Air Bike Skills Park Update

From the City of Burnaby.

The lower section of the Bike Skill Park is now open.

The dirt Pump track is still closed but should be opened in the next few weeks.

Dirt jumps are still closed and will not be open until sometime in May.

In order to stay on top of and address trail maintenance and related issues the BMBA has set up a program with the City of Burnaby to report  and have them repair such items.

Big Maple Poachers Active on Burnaby Mountain

Attention Riders!

Burnaby Parks has asked that mountain bikers help keep an eye out for some illegal tree cutting activity on Burnaby Mountain.  A poacher has been cutting down Maple trees on the North Side of Burnaby Mountain. 

Up to 50 trees were recently slashed as someone is looking for a specific grain of maple wood.  (Click on this story to see pics of  the damage!)

Cap's Bicycle - Sapperton

The Burnaby Mountain Bike Association would like to pass on a big shout out to Cap's Bicycle in New Westminster for their support and funding to  help facilitate ongoing volunteer trail maintenance efforts on Burnaby Mountain!  A cheque for $1000 was presented to the BMBA executive in January 2009 to help defray the cost for tools, food and the other many items that make trail maintenance days a success.
