Lower Snake Trail Day

City of Burnaby Parks, Recreation  & Cultural Services in conjuction with the BMBA.

After a unfortunate cancellation in early spring due to our insurance issues we finally got to hit Lower Snake Saturday September 13.  We concentrated our work to mainly three sections each with its own problem and each receiving it own unique repair.  We re opened corner section a mid trail that had been badly braided and blocked off.  We addressed drainage and installed 40 foot ladder to an area that was saturated and completely rebuild approximately 70 feet of trail toward the bottom with a combination of elevated ladders and rock armoring.  22 volunteers attended many spending the day hauling rocks and material up and the trail.  Lunch was generously supplied by Caps Westwood Cycles.
