Alternate Trail site
I have no idea if Burnaby has intentions of creating new trails, but seen as no one has proposed any ideas I figured i'd be the first!
I think a good site for a new trail could pass through the start and upper parts of what was "911" for anyone who remembers that trail!
The trail would approximately start near the top of gear jammer, decending parralel to the old gear jammer and upper snake, then connect to the very bottom section of gear jammer.
I've hiked up that section of the mountain before. The terrain is excellent to construct a DH run, which Burnaby currently does not have. It would be a great trail to add to the Burnaby Mountain repertoire. The upper section could be fast, and flowy, with the bottom section becoming more technical.
I would love to help build a new trail.
What do you think?

There are a number of proposals Burnaby has for new trails, unfortunately the area you have in mind is not one of them. Burnaby has no plans to build a DH run on the mountain. Currently they are looking at some xc style trails on the south side and are close to completing a new trail just west of the velodrome on north side.

Hey Evan, While I applaud
Hey Evan,
While I applaud your enthusiasm, there is no unauthorized trailbuilding on burnaby mountain. Anything that you build will be found and removed, so you are pretty much wasting your time. Sorry about that, but that's just the way it is.
Unauthorized?
I was only trying to be optimistic, I did not mean to sound like I had intentions of building trails illegally. Burnaby Mountain is basically my backyard, the dream is still a live for a fast and flowy run we can shuttle all day, without travelling the great distance!
